Effective December 1, 2010, the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act (UCCJEA) now applies to family law cases filed in New Hampshire. The UCCJEA has been widely adopted and is now the law in all states but Vermont and Massachusetts. If you are filing a family law matter, consult with your attorney or the New Hampshire Courts’ website (http://www.courts.state.nh.us) to confirm you are using the appropriate forms. A list of forms impacted by this change can be found online at http://www.courts.state.nh.us/fdpp/forms/alphaforms.htm.
