Brendan L. Cahalin
Attorney
Attorney Brendan L. Cahalin joined Bianco Professional Association in 2024.
Brendan assists clients who are experiencing many different types of challenging legal matters, including in the areas of family law, general civil litigation and criminal law. Brendan focuses on litigating matters by utilizing his experience as a both a prosecutor and a defense attorney.
Prior to joining Bianco, Brendan worked as a solo practitioner at his own private practice, where he gained significant experience in many areas of law. During law school, Brendan interned with Electric Insurance Company’s Regulatory Compliance Department and a local law firm representing large corporate creditors. After graduating law school and passing the Bar Exam, he represented the same corporate creditors’ interests in New Hampshire, before transitioning to the Rockingham County Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor. Brendan later prosecuted for Merrimack County as the primary prosecutor for the Merrimack County Drug Court program.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, New Hampshire experienced an indigent defense crisis. When Superior Court Judge John Kissinger publicly called upon attorneys to help “fill the gap” at the New Hampshire Public Defender, Brendan answered the call and was hired by the Public Defender where he served for several years.
Brendan graduated from the University of Massachusetts School of Law where he was a Student Bar Representative. He earned his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University in Boston, where he received an award in 2009 for the Best Undergraduate Research Paper in Comparative Politics and International Relations. He credits his interest in law as being developed by many of his undergraduate professors, namely Professor Emeritus Michael Dukakis, Professor Emeritus David Schmitt, and Associate Professor Michael Tolley.
Currently, Brendan volunteers with the New Hampshire Lawyer’s Assistance Program helping lawyers who are struggling with maladaptive coping mechanisms. In 2023, he received an award by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for his work in supporting mental health. Brendan has also served on the Board of Directors for the New Hampshire Coalition for Recovery Residences, and has been published as a co-author in the Journal Progress in Cardiovascular Disease, Development and Implementation of a Worksite Health and Wellness Program: A Focus on Non-Communicable Disease (2015).
When he’s not at work, Brendan enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He enjoys cooking, music, and spending time outdoors.
